Job hunt

A hearty hello to all of you in blogland!

I finally got up off my lazy duff today and really went job hunting.

I applied at Walmart, well actually amended my application to include night stocking, and to change my available times to ALL the time.

I also applied at Burger King, Dollar Tree, and O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Then, I went by an employment agency that specializes in acquiring substitute teachers, and got the info I needed to get the ball rolling with that. You may remember from an earlier post I did that I want to get involved in teaching, and this seems a great way to do it. I've sent an email to them with the info they require, so hopefully things are going to get going with that now.

I also ran by another employment agency and talked to a lady I used to work with and have already emailed her my resume.

All in all it was a good trip, and I hope to see some results soon.

Thanks to all the well wishers.

There are two places for learning about tarot that I would recommend. The first is Learning The Tarot at http://www.learntarot.com/top.htm. It is self paced with no grades or anything like that, it's just you doing your own thing. The second is an online school that is free, but you have to apply and then enroll in the class, a process that can take a few weeks. It's called The Firefly Academy and can be found here: http://online.fireflyacademy.org/. This is on an 8 week timeline and you get a grade for your work. Both of these places require that you have your own deck but if you can't get one yet and want to start your studies, go here: ftp://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/magick/Tarot/Riderwaite_jpg/. You can view all the images of the Rider-Waite deck, which is one of the best for learners (it's one I use). You won't be able to do anything in the way of shuffling and layouts, but you can look at all the images and follow the exercises to learn about the cards. You'll be one step further along once you actually get your cards. Oh and keep an eye out for an e-mail :)
